Dear Martin,

first of all thank you for your reply and attention.
I will give you feedback as soon as possible.
At the moment I am more studying how the model works.
For example, having the possibility to read eta from a file is important.
However, I would like to combine this information with an obc on the
vertically averaged barotropic velocities (as is done on flather or
characteristic method). At the moment I am trying to understand if this
is possible since mitgcm does not seem to have bc for such velocities.
Am I wrong (as usual)?
