[MITgcm-support] help:u v for open boudary

Dar all,
  I have downloaded u and v datas from ecco group ( http://www.ecco-group.org/eccolas/servlets/dataset?catitem=132) to prepare open boudary for my experiment .Is this data ok if I aplly it as the open boudary condition?
  Now I am confused, do I need to download the 12 months datas from surface to bottom or I only need to download one month data? So what's the format of u and v for the open boudary? Is it u(x,z,t) or just u(x,z) or other format?
