[MITgcm-support] help: u and v open boudary

Dar all,
    I have downloaded u and v datas from ecco group ( http://www.ecco-group.org/eccolas/servlets/dataset?catitem=132) to prepare open boudary for my experiment .Is this data ok if I aplly it as the open boudary condition? I want to use the results from the large scale in my concerned area and  interpolate the results to high resolution ,then use them as the open boudary conditions. Is this feasible to do in this way?
    Now I am confused, do I need to download the 12 months datas from surface to bottom or I only need to download one month data? So what's the format of u and v for the open boudary? Is it u(x,z,t) or just u(x,z) or other formats?
