[MITgcm-support] energy diagnostics

Hi,

I am sure that this has been discussed on this list before, but
because the search function on http://mitgcm.org/search.html still
does not work for the support mailing list I cannot find anything
about energy diagnostics.
I want to diagnose energy production (u*grad(p)), redistribution
((u*grad) u), and dissipation (u*dissipation, that is horizontal
friction and bottom and side drag) terms in the horizontal momentum
equations. As far as i can see, there are no built-in diagnostics for
this yet.
Is there anybody who has done this and is willing to share her/his code?
Otherwise my plan was to use gU/V and gU/Vdiss (and mulitply by U/V)
and save just before calling timestep (in dynamics.F), but is there
an explicit tendency due to grad(p)? Do I have to save this
contribution in momentum_correction_step.F to be consistent with the
pressure correction method?

Martin
