[MITgcm-support] no wVel in checkpoint files!

I've got non-hydrostatic computations taking place, and I'm writing out checkpoint ("pickup") files.... I noticed upon restart that my w-velocities are identically zero everywhere, and I see in the checkpoint.F file that wVel is not read/written.  Why is this?
