[MITgcm-support] Compile error

Dear All.

I got a compile error which is following,
f90: Error: calc_grad_phi_hyd.f, line 2942: This name does not have a type, and must have an explicit type.   [PHI0SURF]
         varLoc(i,j) = phiHydC(i,j)+phi0surf(i,j,bi,bj)
------------------------------------^
*** Exit 1
Stop.

f90: Error: mdsio_reclen.F, line 29: This name does not have a type, and must have an explicit type.   [WORDLENGTH]
       MDS_RECLEN=nnn*WORDLENGTH
----------------------^
*** Exit 1
Stop.

The former one is from old version of MITgcm and the latter is from the latest version.
Perhaps, I might miss some important file or option. 
What should I do when meet this message during compiling?
