Hi,
I've put a tar file with Ralf's latest version of his structure
of ECCO under
ocean.mit.edu:/data17/heimbach/ecco/ecco-0.10.0.tar.gz
fjord.ucsd.edu:/net/ice3/heimbach/ecco-0.10.0.tar.gz
This version is more or less consistent so far only
for pure forward run's (no ECCO package included).
Feel free to look into it.
I'd be grateful for comments & problems.
A few comments:
* Don't try to do anything else then pure forward modelling
(NO enable external forcing
NO enable data assimilation
NO include cost function
NO enable automatic differentiation
NO include calendar tool)
It either hasn't been tested or has been but didn't work)
* The forward model is different from c31 or any previous.
* The forward model is scattered among different subdir's
./src/
./src/model/
./src/io/
./src/solver/
./src/subgrid/kpp/
./src/subgrid/gmredi/
./src/wrapper/ (-> eesupp/src/, eesupp/inc/)
../src/includes/ (-> model/inc/)
My suggestion is to flatten this to be more straightforward
with respect to MITgcmUV
Since we didn't manage to agree to switch to a standard forward
checkpoint as part of this "release" and since parts of the ECCO
package within that "release" are not yet up-to-date with tested
pieces of the code, Detlef and I decided to stick to the structure
that I've been distributing so far to get the code running in a
timely manner.
Nevertheless, I still think it's worth to consider Ralf's
structure, which potentially has some nice features,
and to see what of it you want and what you don't want.
I will try to bring the "release" up-to-date with tested pieces,
if time permits, but will focus on getting the code running
within the familiar structure for the time being.
Cheers
Patrick
