[Mitgcm-support] port 2401 on chaucer

We have a problem using cvspserver (residing on chaucer aka mitgcm.org).

 From an outside machine (dungeon.aer.com):
beehive% telnet mitgcm.org 2401

while from sea.mit.edu, or fjord.ucsd.edu

cvs [pserver aborted]: bad auth protocol start: foo

Connection closed by foreign host.

This problem is reported as a bug in cvs-1.1.10 but we are using 
1.11.1p1 for both clients and server.

There's no obvious reason why the aer.com machine should be denied 
(according to hosts.allow). This is stopping people downloading the
our model. Can you please help?
