[MITgcm-devel] spikes in heatflux/icegrowth/empmr

Hi Dimitris,

did you ever see things like these below: Spikes in fluxes underneath  
the ice that correspond to up to 7000W/m^2 and freshwater fluxes of  
-8m/d? Interestingly the thermodynamic growth has these spikes as  
well, but the maximal growth/meltrates are not necessarily in these  
spikes.
The spikes are really only singular melt event, which do not last  
more that a time step.

This is probably a consequence of the unfortunate parameterization in  
seaice_growth and may also lead to the problem with the adjoint(?)  
that Ian fixes with his implementation?
