[MITgcm-devel] switch to genmake2

Hi folks,

Alistair and I are about to merge branch-genmake2 into the head of the
CVS tree.  This will be a major "package cleanup" check-in that breaks a
number of things including the old genmake.

After this check-in we will only use the newer genmake2.  While this
might be painful, we'll do everything we can to help you with the
transition.  Notes are available at:

and please send me your genmake2 errors/problems and I'll try to get
them fixed quickly.

Also, please refrain from checking in anything for about 24hrs as we
sort out the changes for the merge.
