You probably have specified non-zero ivdc_kappa or cAdjFreq, see the manual here: https://mitgcm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/getting_started/getting_started.html
If you use pkg/kpp, you need to disable other forms of convection, i.e., leave the two variables to their default values of 0.
