Dear Helen,

I hope I have reached the right person! I am helping to organise a
workshop about advances in turbulence parametrisations and wondered if this
might be of interest to the MITgcm community? The workshop is taking place
at the University of Exeter in the UK next summer and I’ve provided a link
to the workshop webpage below that provides some more information and the
registration form:

Navigating the Turbulence Grey Zone in Numerical Weather Prediction:
Modelling Challenges and Interdisciplinary Insights | Workshop of
Turbulence Gray Zone in NWP in Exeter, UK, on 23-25 June 2025.
<https://dvlaykov.github.io/turbulence-grey-zone-nwp/>

I work at the Met Office in the UK and I have some ongoing research using
MITgcm and so had to consider the turbulence parametrisation challenge, so
thought the workshop may be of some general interest to people!

It would be great if you could inform the MITgcm community about the
workshop, or let me know how I can do this? I didn’t think I should email
the support mailing list without first checking with you.

Many thanks,
Paul Burns
