Dear Memar,

there’s ample information in the documentation (in particular Chapter 3 “Getting Started with the MITgcm”: https://mitgcm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/getting_started/getting_started.html <https://mitgcm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/getting_started/getting_started.html> ). Also try to work through some of the tutorials, I recommend to start with 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 ( see https://mitgcm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/examples/examples.html <https://mitgcm.readthedocs.io/en/latest/examples/examples.html> )
