[MITgcm-support] solid boundary with sponge layer

Hi all,
I am using a model setup with a solid north boundary so that no mass exchange
occurs at the north. This is done using a bathymetry file whose northernmost
grid points are set to zero (e.g., land points).
However, I also need a sponge layer so that the temperature could be restored to
some given profile. According to the manual, my sponge layer will restore temperature
to the north boundary condition.
Now I'm a little confused. Since my north boundary is masked by the bathy file, does a
temperature boundary file take some restoring effects in this case? Or maybe I should
use the rbcs package?
