[MITgcm-support] FLT trajectories stuck on land

Dear MITgcm fellow-sufferers,

I am reaching out for advice on the following issue: I am advecting particles with offline velocities in a realistic setting (ECCO4), and in some domains 40% of the particles get stuck on land. This is an unacceptably high fraction.

Does anyonw have advice/suggestions on how to modifiy the particle advection or velocity interpolation schemes to mitigate this problem?

Many thanks,

Paola Cessi
