[MITgcm-support] pre-processing software

Tony,

preparing input files is the responsibility of the user, i.e. you. There are plenty simple examples in the “verification” directory how to generate input data for simplyfied experiments, some of these experiments (the ones starting with “tutorial_”) are described in the manual (how to get started section). Look for `ls verification/*/input*/gendata.m`, where you will find matlab scripts (but without step by step description) what the input fields should look like.

For more complicated grids (e.g. cubed sphere or llc grids), you’ll have to ask more specific questions in this list.

I am afraid you’ll have to live with the fact, that not everything is presented in a “ready-to-go-with-the-black-box” style

Martin

I looked through the utils/matlab, there is only a brief README to introduce the scripts, but no introduction how to use them? They are a bit confusing for me.
