[MITgcm-support] CheapAML problems with non-zero wind

Hi all,

I am trying to run an ocean with the cheapAML atmosphere. My ocean is relatively high resolution (20m in all directions) and doubly periodic (setup adapted from the deep convection tutorial).

I'm able to run with the atmosphere so long as I keep the wind at zero; as soon as I include even a very weak wind the temperature of the atmosphere and the heatflux will, at some point, go to extremes and the model blows up.

When exactly this happens seems to depend on the strength of wind. There don't appear to be any preceding signs; the model just continues as normal up until this happens. Because it blows up so suddenly, I am having trouble finding out what is causing the change.

Any advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Patrick
