[MITgcm-support] cvs update behaviour

it seems that i am unable to cvs update as after the appropriate, setenv..., cvs login (with password), cd MITgcm, cvs update, sequence ... nothing happens.

the terminal just sits there. i tried this on two of my 'home' machines, which have successfully updated in the past.

now, my 'office' machine from a different email address successfully updated without issue.

so, what's up?
