In a similar vein, has anyone thought of setting up an MITgcm wiki? There is a huge amount of lore stuck in people’s heads or buried inconveniently in the mailing list. A wiki would allow people to make their expertise public without having to make it part of the “official” documentation.

In some ways it was even nicer than grepping the code, and certainly easier, e.g. when using a mobile device. It hasn't worked for over a year or so. I was wondering if anyone else made use of it, and whether it doesn't work because of an oversight, or for reasons beyond anyone's control?
