[MITgcm-support] explanation of eddy-permitting and eddy-resolving resolutions

Hi everyone

I am working on high resolution (~0.1 degree) MITgcm modelling.

Does anyone have a good reference for where I could find a good (citable)
'textbook' definition of the difference between eddy-permitting and
eddy-resolving ocean model resolutions please?

I can find lots of papers which describe differences in climatologies
between the two types of models, but not a good description of the
difference between them, apart from the fact that eddy-resolving models are
higher resolution of course!
