[MITgcm-support] files size on disk is too large

I run a case of MITgcm, but the size on disk is much much larger than the actual size of files.
Anyone has an idea to reduce the size on disk? Thanks a lot.

total size of files: 70.8 GB (70,767,084,809 bytes)
Size on disk: 570.2 GB (570,204,389,376 bytes)
