thank you for replying so soon!
Sorry I forgot to say I was already using the "unlimit" option in all
my attempts.
As I was not sure it was exactly the same thing, I have also just
tried "limit stacksize unlimited".
No success --> unfortunately same results.

I do not know what to say more as the error message is indeed obscure.
After printing initial files, after having monitored the "dynamic" and
"ptracers field statistics"
in the STDOUT files, the simulation with the intel compilers just dies
with error message like

mpirun noticed that process rank 4 with PID 8998 on node ln188 exited
on signal 11 (Segmentation fault).
