[MITgcm-support] Excess cooling at the surface layers

Thanking you for your continued help and suggestations.
We have conducted TWO experiments .

Exp_1 :I closed the boundaries by
“useOBCs=.FALSE.” in data.pkgFurther we introduced Land points at the
North, South and Eastern boundaries. The results are
:(Elevation_Exp1_WALL.png, SST_Exp1_WALL.png (attached))a) ETA varies
between = -0.11 m to +0.17 m (reasonable)b) The excess cooling over
the COMPLETE DOMAIN CONTINUES.
Exp_2 :North, South and Eastern boundaries are OPEN , We allowed
obcs-velocities and used Orlanski.ALLOW_OBCS_BALANCEuseOBCSbalance=
.TRUE.UseOrlanski* (N/S/E) = .TRUE.
The results are : (Elevation_Exp2.png and SST_Exp2.png (attached))a)
ETA varies between = -0.12 m to + 0.086 m b) The excess cooling over
the complete domain still PERSISTS.
However in both the Experiments the SURFACE CIRCULATION is REASONABLE
with anticyclonic tendency as may be expected. In general what we infer
is that the water from about 400-500 metres are being upwelled all
through the domain, which is “unrealistic”............. ???? We
appreciate
  Suggestations/solutions ?????

(I suppose we are not able to handle some of the relevent flags
properly...OR .......Do we need to add/ignore some flags (processes))
??????????....... Do suggest ???
