Manfredi, this

> PID.TID 0000.0001) *** ERROR *** cal_CheckDate: Calendar date before
> predef. reference date

usually means that the startdate in data.cal precedes a startdate specified in data.exf

and this

> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> READ_PICKUP: no field-list found
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> try to read pickup as it used to be
> written
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> until checkpoint59i (2007 Oct 22)
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> SEAICE_READ_PICKUP: no field-list found
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> try to read pickup as it used to be
> written
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> until checkpoint59j (2007 Nov 25)
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> MDS_READ_META: file:
> pickup_ptracers.0000000001.meta , pickup_ptracers.0000000001.001.001.meta
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> MDS_READ_META: Files DO not exist
> (PID.TID 0000.0001) WARNING >> PTRACERS_READ_PICKUP: no field-list found

means that a pickup*.meta file is missing.

This

> if it runs (and it does run if starting with nIter=0) BUT it does NOT
> write out the pickups of ptracers, where could it be causing that problem

could mean that pkg/ptracers is disabled (if you get the other pickups)
or that chkPtFreq or pChkPtFreq are not set properly.

Hope this helps, Dimitris
