[MITgcm-support] compile error

Hi,

You are reporting compiler warnings which are quite dependent
on compiler, compiler flags, or even compiler version.
(it could have been useful to mentionned which optfile
 you are using).

In general, most of them can be ignored (for instance
unintialized variable warnings
and regarding the 5 you found:
1) this is normal (with a 2-D set-up) and cause no problem.
2) uninitialised variable which can be ignored.
3) unused variables cause no harm (we try to remove them,
but there are still a lot, and they tend to come back)
4) is more tricky, but the code is safe: S/R MPI_RECV has an argument
(the 3rd one) which define the type of the 1rst argument, so that
it's normal to see calls to MPI_RECV with different 1rst argument type.
5) is an internal compiler warning about uncompatible compiler flags.
  (see your optfile)

CHeers,
Jean-Michel
