[MITgcm-support] Problem with Kelvin wave speed

Dear all,
I am having problems simulating Kelvin waves which travel at the correct speed. I am using the global 90x40x15 example but with resolution at 0.2deg to resolve the Kelvin waves adequately and a 120x10 domain. My setup is a two layer box with the top layer at 15C and the bottom at 5C. The forcing is through a rbcs temperature relaxation in the top left corner of the domain including a sponge surrounding the forcing region.
My theoretical calculations suggest a Kelvin wave speed of around 3.5ms-1 with the above set up but currently my model simulated waves are travelling at less than 1ms-1.
Any help would be very much appreciated. I have attached my data and data.rbcs files.
Thanks,
Eleanor
