Maxiaohui,
you probably need to adjust the (horizontal) mixing coefficients (see  
global1x1_tot, which is not a verification experiment, but neverless  
gives you an idea of their magnitude), otherwise your run will blow  
up quickly (too large mixing requires very small time steps for  
numerical reasons).

All of this is trial and error to some extend, so happy "trying",
