[MITgcm-support] restart using separate months forcing files

I am trying to restart the MITgcm after running the model for one month. I have separate forcing files for each month (different lengths), and when I try to restart the model from the pickup (nIter0 of one month), the model tries to locate forcings as if I had a year-long forcing file. (I set the names of the forcing files in data and data.exf anew each month) I am using the data.cal and data.exf packages, which I think is what is making things confusing. If I want the model to know that the first value in the forcing file is what it should be starting from, how do I set startTime in data and startDate in data.cal? Or, is there a way to have the model use a pickup file as an initial condition, so that I trick it into thinking it is always starting from time=0?
Thanks,
Val Bennington
