how do you have the parameters

globalFiles and useSingleCpuIO set in the run/data file in the &PARM01 namelist.

i had this occurrence once, and i recall that it is related to one of these switches.
also check the archives of the list.

try globalFiles = .false. and useSingleCpuIO = .true.
