All the cube-sphere verification experiments, for example, global_ocean.cs32x15,
use curvilinear grid. An alternative way to read-in grid files, i.e., in
separate files for each field as opposed to the "tile*" input files, is to use
"OLD_GRID_IO". There is an example of this here:
