[MITgcm-support] Reading a binary vector

Hi Dimitris,

Sorry, should have been more careful - it is set to 'ieee-be'.  I can  
get other files from Matlab to MITgcm (i.e. the various init files).

Again, a generic question is what is the "best practice" for  
initializing user-defined variables like this?
