Hi Ivane,
totPhiHyd is "defined" in model/src/diags_phi_hyd.F.
It's
cumsum(g*(rho(z)-rho0)*dz)/rhoConst + free surface contribution  
(g*eta) + (surfPressure)/rhoConst
