Hi Abby & Dimitris,

Heres a response from Dimitris who needs to remember to use his

Abby, unfortunately pkg/seaice has not yet been
formulated for a fully general curvilinear grid. If
your model configuration is pretty close to polar
stereographic, you can probably get away with same
trick as is used for cubed-sphere configuration. A
yet more accurate way to do this, if your grid is not
already cast in stone, is to use an Arctic grid where
the "Equator" passes through the North Pole. Jinlun
Zhang is the expert on pkg/seaice and may be able to
give you more information on work-around solutions.
