[MITgcm-support] [MITgcm Manual] section 3.2 Obtaining the code

Hi,

I am a new postdoc at WHOI and I have just downloaded the code, which 
I'll be using during my postdoc project here. I'll be modeling 
entrainment in overflows, in particular the Faroe Bank Channel.

And while I am mailing you, maybe you could help me with a problem I 
encountered, which I don't know how to fix myself. When compiling the 
code by simply typing:

% make

a whole list of errors appeared all looking like the following example:

f90-100 f90: ERROR CD_CODE_READ_CHECKPOINT, File = PARAMS.h, Line = 573, 
Column = 7
  This statement must begin with a label, a keyword, or an identifier.

      _RL monitorFreq
      ^              

after 100 such error messages the compilation was aborted. Can you tell 
me who to fix this problem?
