i did figure out what was going on. (i/m used to f90 dynamic memory allocation, so i wasn/t thinking about SIZE.h at all,
i should have, since the sources are f77).

i/m building the plume on the slope problem.

everything looks good, especially the documentation.

i will follow your advice on the 'step by step'.
