[MITgcm-support] CVS problem, but probably exclusively mine

Martin,

There's a cvs via http proxy thing for the Mac (which you have?) but in
general it's not the right way to go - you need to use SOCKS. (And stop
wearing sandals too!)

Subject: [MITgcm-support] CVS problem, but probably exclusively mine

Hi,

after all this trouble with CVS, I have a related question:

My new computer is behind some sort of firewall in a private network
(LAN?) and I cannot use ssh to access any IP address outside of our
institution. In fact, my computer is not visible from the outside,
either (I guess that's the idea of private network), and all I can do
is go through a HTTP-proxy. This has to do with general paranoia in our
institute, but that's a different story.
Is there a way for to access the mitgcm-cvs-repository via our
http-proxy? What can I do for that? Or would you have to set up your
CVS-system so that it provides http-proxy support?

Thanks,
Martin
