Hi all,
I've put a tar file under
/net/ice3/heimbach/ecco_c30_e1.tar.gz
which is hopefully
a common basis for all to work with and to improve upon.
My name convention was
ecco_c${mitgcmuv_cnumber}_e${ecco_cnumber}
${mitgcmuv_cnumber} makes clear on which forward model the
package is based
${ecco_cnumber} is the running checkoint number for ecco
under this MITgcmUV checkpoint
Please feel free to comment if you don't like this.
The package is based on MITgcmUV c30 with a few minor corrections.
The hope was to have already c32 included, but some problems
with that have to be sorted out first.
A few properties of this package:
- ./eesupp/src/
Armin's fixes of the exch routines
- ./pkg/autodiff/
some cleaning of flow directives related to
active_file.F, active_file_ad.F;
Removal of autodiff_*.F, since these are not needed.
- ./pkg/cost/
Armin's and Elisabeth's cost functions
for Atlantic meridional heat transport and CTD data
- ./pkg/ctrl/
Cleaning-up and fixes to ctrl_pack, ctrl_unpack, ctrl_map,
ctrl_init, ctrl.h
- ./pkg/ecco/
a slightly cleaned ecco_main.F
- ./pkg/exf/
Connection of SST/SSS relaxation to forward model (exf_mapfields);
some rudimentary changes to use surface climatology files
in different "formats";
- ./optim/, ./lsopt/
Some essential bug fixes
But may still need testing;
Armin's m1qn3 routine still needs to be included as alternative
to lsopt
It would be important that you switch to the new package
entirely rather than only taking a few subroutine from it,
so that everybidy works on the same basis.
You may have to check your header files with respect to
CPP options, as well as your experiment-specific data files.
There is still some way to go to a release and I will
summarize the most important issues shortly.
Please report problems & bugs.
I will commit this version to the CVS tree.
I will make sure you'll have access to CVS to be able to
check in/out code.
I'll install CVS on the SIO system (will talk with Arne)
and give you a description of the main CVS commands.
Hope, I didn't forget anything.
Cheers
Patrick
