I've tagged checkpoint50 on the main branch and
ecco_c50_e28 on the ecco-branch.

main branch:
- some recent developments on the ecco-branch were
ported to the main branch, which is why
   soon after c49 there's a c50

ecco-branch:
- ecco_c50_e28 should be in synch with c50 of main branch.
Thus, gmredi is now available for the state estimation.
   Two caveats(!):
   * GMREDI adjoint looks good for gradient checks, BUT
     KPP adjoint is now broken $#?:@&!+*%;
hope this is a small problem.
   * a few more minor modif's need to be made to have the
tangent linear model available for the ECCO setup
     (cpp options mismatch between ALLOW_ECCO_OPTIMIZATION
      and ALLOW_TANGENTLINEAR_RUN)

Both branches should have parallel DIVA and grdchk working,
with one remaining hand fix in the DIVA code for
current TAF-1.4.26.

I'll send out directions on how to use DIVA later.
