Sounds complicated.
Do you want to come by this afternoon?
Sometime around 4pm would be good for me.
We can pester Jean-Michel too if he is around - Jean-Michel are you
around at 4?

lots of stuff claims
>Note - only works with #undef NO_SLIP_LATERAL in calc_mom_rhs.F

Yet there is no longer a calc_mom_rhs.F. Also I can find no
#ifdef NO_SLIP_LATERAL statements.

In particular Mick's OCMIP code CPP_OPTIONS.h has:

>C o Use "OLD" UV discretisation near boundaries (*not* recommended)
>C Note - only works with #undef NO_SLIP_LATERAL in calc_mom_rhs.F
>C because the old code did not have no-slip BCs
>#define OLD_ADV_BCS

>C o Use "OLD" UV geometry on sphere (definately *NOT* recommended)
>C Note - only works with #undef NO_SLIP_LATERAL in calc_mom_rhs.F
>C because the old code did not have no-slip BCs
>#define OLD_UV_GEOMETRY

OLD_ADV_BCS is used in mom_u_adv_vu.F,
and OLD_UV_GEOMETRY seems to no longer exist.
And could this be the problem?
