Daniel,

I assume that you got the OBCS code via the ECCO
distribution or via Geoffrey.
The sponge layer code is currently not a standard feature
of the MITgcm, it's maintained separately with
the enhanced ECCO code.
Let me know which version(s) or patches you have and
we can see how to merge your missing pieces.
