Alistair,

I have no problem with which particular names end up
being used.  What is more important (to make the code easier
to read and modify) is "consistency".

The code you sent me yesterday in qqq.tar uses a different
convention and structure from that outlined by Chris, which
itself is different from that used by Patrick.

As soon as you have made up your minds, I will be glad to
adopt and advocate your convention for existing and future
packages.
