Thanks for replying - I've just posted a message on the discussion
board before seeing your response. Anyway, I was running exp0 and exp2
(exactly the same abort message) and I didn't try any changes to the
genmake file in the original download. The complier is g77 v3.3 20030226
(prerelease) (SuSE Linux). I wonder if I should try an older complier
(not sure what the word 'prerelease' implies!)
