Hi Sonya,

Try this:

in ini_communication_patterns.F (under eesupp/src) change

       exchUsesBarrier = .TRUE.

to

       exchUsesBarrier = .FALSE.

This worked for me on an SGI at Boston University.

Let me know if this works for you, in which case we might need to check in 
the change. What do you think Chris, Alistair?
