I adapt the /exp4/, but the delZ is much smaller than delX and delY.
My data is delX=DelY=9260m, and delZ=3m~10m, say delZ=6.5m,
no change for the other parameters, the MIT runs for nearly 4000 iterations,
if delZ=10m,then MIT runs 5722 iterations, if delZ=15,then much more iterations reached.
I check the MIT, it says that rhsMax>=e200, than comes a NAN,
So, for such condition, how can I adjust the delZ?
Because I want to calculate the shelf sea. The Max depth is 65m (bottom),
each layer is 3,3,3,3,3,3,5,5,10,17m, I can not adapt delZ to 20m,
I have no experiments.
how to give the parameter for such a thin layer ?

Mazhaipu,

Olx,Oly >= 2 for most applications depending on the stencil of terms
employed in the configuration. If you are using higher than second order
schemes (e.g. 3rd order advection, bi-harmonic viscosity/diffusion
(viscA4/diffK4T) etc.) then use Olx,Oly=3. This does not change the size of
model in/output but simply the internal storage/declarations.

Dear Sir

I am researcher at Hebei University of China and I am working in ocean
cieculation.
I am very interested to apply the MITgcm in order to study changes in
water.
So I am writing you to inform that I have just downloaded MITgcm model
and I will try to intall it on 1 processors PC (Linux plataform). Today I
change my email from mazhaipu at 126.com to zhaipuma at mail.hbu.edu.cn. I hope in
getting your support in case I need it

sincerely

mazhaipu

By the way, I tried to applied MIT to a real area (117E~122.5E,37N~41N),
Because there are some open boundaries points, I adapt the SIZE.h and data
in Verification/exp4/code and Verification/exp4/input, Only on one PC, with
no
MPI, OLx=1, OLy=1 (If OLx=Oly=0, no mitgcmuv will be made.), I want to know,
Must
OLx and OLy >=0 ? Nearly in all the tutorials OLx=OLy=3, the real topog of
my area is ny=49,nx=61,dx=9260m, the topog I made is like(1 means wet
point,0 eans land):
