[MITgcm-devel] Papers charting the development of MITgcm

Hi all,
I realize that the web page listing the papers "charting the development 
of MITgcm" is hard to find.
Is there a problem with moving the link from the "News" section to the 
front page of the documentation (http://mitgcm.org/public/docs.html) so 
people can find it in one click ?

Also, this page is fairly dry (the word "charting" is a clear 
overstatement). This is just a blunt chronological list.
What about adding a few guidelines on how to refer to those papers ? Or 
at least give some structure (dynamical core refs, sea-ice refs, grid 
refs) ? Maybe add refs from non-MIT people (e.g. Winton 2000)?

Maybe this could help avoid this kind of description I've seen in a 
recent paper:
"We solve the global, three-dimensional primitive equations
in spherical geometry using the MITgcm (Adcroft et al. 2004),
which is a state-of-the-art atmosphere and ocean circulation
model maintained at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology."
