Hi Matt,
Since I don't know why you can get a "128.31.2.31: No route to host"
but still be able to ssh to forge, I forward this to mitgcm-devel.
(may be others will have an idea).
Regarding the 2nd thing you try:
> login4% ssh forge.csail.mit.edu
> Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-with-mic).
this is expected. This is the same error message I send you
yesterday when I tried from a machine where I have a different
user name.

Tried again, this is what I got:
login4% setenv CVSROOT :ext:@mitgcm.org:/u/gcmpack
login4% cvs co MITgcm_contrib/SOSE
connect to address 128.31.2.31: No route to host
Trying krb4 rsh...
connect to address 128.31.2.31: No route to host
trying normal rsh (/usr/bin/rsh)
forge.csail.mit.edu: No route to host
cvs [checkout aborted]: end of file from server (consult above messages if
any)
login4% ssh forge.csail.mit.edu
Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-with-mic).
login4% ssh mmazloff at forge.csail.mit.edu
Warning: untrusted X11 forwarding setup failed: xauth key data not
generated
Warning: No xauth data; using fake authentication data for X11 forwarding.
Last login: Tue Feb 2 16:14:49 2010 from 129.114.50.163
any ideas?
