[MITgcm-devel] recomps from smoothing package

Hi Matt,

The pkg/smooth version I had posted in MITgcm_contrib/gael
(which I was the only one using until recently) is both
very general and very unclean. Given the recent interest
of you and others in this pkg, I have been renovating it. The new
version is essentially a cleaned up, stripped down (leaving out
the isopynic smoothing operator for now), pkg/smooth.
I need to polish it a bit further and then I will post it in MITgcm/pkg.

The (minor) issue that you are mentioning has been
fixed as part of this complete overhaul of pkg/smooth.
I will let you know when it is posted in MITgcm/pkg,
which should happen within a week...
