Martin, where would be the correct location to specify these velocities.  Is it 
sufficient to specify velocities right after dynamic solver and right before 
advection/diffusion or would one need to specify them repeatedly within each 
iteration of the LSR solver and substep of the EVP solver?  This is a bit more 
involved than I am willing to test right now unless there is specific motivation 
to do so, i.e., Michael complaining that ice in his Weddell Sea domain still 
looks wrong.  Early indications are that specifying area/heff/hsnow/hsalt is 
good enough but lets wait for further feedback from Michael.  Dimitris
