Hi Dimitris,

that's great news! Especially in the Antarctic you plots look very much like what I get for my 2deg model! So everything is 
very consistent, the new distribution looking far more realistic than cube40.
>From my experience (ie. in my 2deg run) the 1-AREA thing is responsible for the better seaice distribution and thickness, 
the snow fixes do not do too much to the ice, but it's certainly a big improvement, too, to have no snow over open water! 
When you use the flooding algorithm, the last snow will vanish as well.
