[MITgcm-devel] adjoint testing on faulks

Hi Ed

workking from home today except I'm currently not working because I 
can't get a figure window under matlab -
I ssh to adams.csail.mit.edu
type matlabonadams -nojvm (which I have aliased to whatever the special 
matlab command is you have to use for it to work on adams)

and then nothing.
I get a matlab prompt but no 'matlab graphic' and subsequently no figure 
window if I type figure.

I know I've had this happen to me before but I can't figure out (excuse 
the pun!) how to fix it.
Once upon a time I would have used setenv DISPLAY something but I don't 
know what my laptop's called even if that were to help

do you have any ideas what might be wrong
how I might fix things to be able to run matlab and actualy see what I 
am plotting
would rebooting adams help -  emailed steph to do this but she wasn't in 
when I called her...
